This camera is great. I mounted it on the outside of my house facing my driveway and the street. You don't have to worry about any wires and can be charged via solar power kit. It uses an app to make setup super easy and you can request images at any time. Great security feature for those in the market.
Our 4G cameras work on the Telstra network. They use the mobile network to send images to your phone whenever movement triggers the camera. A Telstra SIM card will enable you to see what the camera sees almost instantaneously.
The SIM card required is a normal "FULL Size" mobile phone SIM card that supports MMS, SMS and DATA as data is used for emails and FTP only. You can source a Telstra SIM through your local dealer, or via a Telstra sub carrier such as Aldi, Belong or Betterlife Mobile that offer a variety of plans with great value and service.
2. How much 4G reception does the camera require?
The X-Trail 4G camera requires a mobile SIM card on the Telstra network with around 2-3 bars of mobile coverage to send photos or emails.
3. Does the X-Trail 4G camera live stream?
The X-Trail 4G cameras will not live stream, but it will send an instant photo to your phone, email or website when triggered by movement or set to time lapse. The device will contact you when triggered, rather than you needing to contact the camera.
4. Do I require the 4G mobile app?
The camera is fully functional without it. However, if you need to change settings in the camera remotely, then the app can allow you to do this as well as request a image now.
